The nissan consult cable allows you to diagnose engine/sensor problems to fix yourself. Simply plug in the consult cable into the interface port (usually located in the footwell area near the fusebox) of a compatible Nissan vehicle and the other RS232 end into your PC. With a software such as "Nissan Data Scan", you have a fully functional diagnostic tool that is used in professional workshops to trouble shoot engine faults and clear error codes. Interface cable length is 1.2m

This Nissan consult cable will work with any Nissan vehicle with a gray 14-pin nissan consult connector, usually from models ranging from 1989 to 2000 (see picture of connector below). A PC with a RS232 connector is also needed or a serial to USB convertor device can be purchased for extra. With the Nissan consult cable and software such as Nissan Data Scan, you can monitor all the sensors (O2, Air flow, battery, throttle, etc) on your nissan vehicle to narrow down problems, troubleshooting or to simply monitor your vehicle. The nissan consult cable will only work with the original Nissan ECUs. It will not work with complete replacement ECUs such as Power FC. Chipped or piggyback ECU systems are fine as long as it is a Nissan ECU.
