Spy cameras or surveillance cameras have a variety of uses in todays world from monitoring properties and shop premises from theft or vandalism. We have a range of high quality spy cameras to suit all budgets and uses. The first factor when shopping for a spy camera is to determine if one wishes to go wired or wireless solution. There is not much difference in a wired or wireless spy camera except for the way it transmits data. In both instances, the spy camera is mounted in the appropriate position and the camera connected to a TV or recording device such as a VCR.
Wired Spy Cameras
Wired spy cameras are recommended for more permanent installations or where reliability is more important. Due to its relative simplicity of wired spy cameras, the cost of these surveillance cameras are the cheapest of the range. We have a variety of wired spy cameras including optional infra red for night vision as well as pinhole type spy cameras for more covert uses.
Wireless Spy Cameras
We also offer a range of wireless spy cameras for more temporary installations or where a wired spy camera is not practical. A wireless spy camera consists of the camera unit and a separate wireless receiver. The wireless receiver is connected to a TV or a recording device such as a VCR and the wireless camera transmits the video and audio wirelessly in the form of radio waves. Wireless spy cameras have a maximum operating arnge of approx 80-100m outdoors (line of sight) or approx 30m indoors. This is only a rough approximation as there are a variety of factors that can affect the performance and range of a wireless spy camera such as number of walls, wall thickness, building materials, interference with other electornic devices, etc.
IP (Internet Protocol) Cameras
IP Cameras are a more professional type of camera and often used for remote monitoring. For example, a IP spy camera can be mounted to monitor a shop premesis and the real time video can be streamed across the Internet and be accessed anywhere in the world. Privacy can be maintained by only allowing certain users to view the streaming video from the spy camera through the use of secure passwords. The advantage of IP spy cameras is that it allows recording of video and audio onto a hard drive and accessed digitally. Our IP cameras also come with security software to allow motion detection (and automatic recording) as well as email alerts when movement is detected. Infra Red LEDs for night vision is also in-built on our IP spy cameras. IP spy cameras connect to a network simply via a standard RJ-45 ethernet network cable.
WiFi Cameras
WiFi spy cameras are a cross between IP cameras and regular Wireless Cameras, However, they do not need to be connect via a RJ-45 network cable (although it can if required). Instead, they are extrememly versatile and can be placed anywhere within a WiFi network at home or in the office and the data is transmitted wirelessly and digitally to your wireless Acess point, router or modem. It allows the flexibility of an IP spy camera as it allows videos to be streamed across the Internet while also offering the veratility of a Wireless installation. Our WiFi spy cameras come packaged with security software to allow motion detection (and automatic recording) as well as email alerts when movement is detected. Infra Red LEDs for night vision is also in-built on our IP spy cameras. WiFi cameras have a better operating range and are more reliable than standard wireless spy cameras.
